Description
We are a registered charity, number NIC 104929, our company number is (NI) 611869. We are based at 16 Nut Hill Road, Moira.
We rescue commercial laying hens at point of slaughter. These beautiful hens are only 72 weeks old and deserve a chance to “live” and be loved before they die.
They continue to lay eggs, which takes its toll on their wee bodies, and they make fantastic pets
All money from the sale of our eggs goes straight back into the charity to rescue, rehabilitate and Rehome these beautiful creatures.
We don’t use an honesty box as the road is too narrow. If you would like eggs please phone or text me the day before you want to collect them so I can have them ready for you.
The eggs are laid by happy hens who get to lay in straw nests and love also to lay in the compost. The eggs are not spotlessly clean as we do not wash the eggs because that would remove the natural antibacterial layer that protects the eggs from absorbing any bacteria. Eggs should not be stored in the fridge and only washed, if needs be, immediately before use.
